Our crew at Concordia Station would like to invite readers of this blog to submit photos of the sun and of sunlight to the ESA Concordia Flicker Account (see link below).

We are currently living in nearly 4 months of darkness and are slowly forgetting sunlight.

I see photos sent of friends and family at home in the Northern Hemisphere’s summer and seeing a background of sunlight is an incredibly strange feeling – invoking a sense of a well known, but long forgotten memory.

So far we have had photos from Tim Peake (Britain’s only Astronaut in Training), NASA, Brazil, Hawaii, and a wonderful shot by André Kuipers onboard the International Space Station.
